Aydar Akylbek Uulu is a director and cinematographer based in Los Angeles, originally from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
Over ten years, his work has spanned commercials, branded content, and documentary film across Kyrgyzstan, Prague, Los Angeles, and the American Midwest. He is the founder of Luminade, a commercial production studio in Chicago.
He is a third-generation filmmaker: his grandfather produced at Kyrgyzfilm, his father worked as a camera operator.
He is currently in the MFA Film Production program at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, ranked the No. 1 film school in the U.S. by The Hollywood Reporter.
